Community Career Center members can schedule one-on-one with our volunteer career coaches. With backgrounds in human resources and business, they provide valuable one-one-one expertise to assist job seekers in all areas of job search. One appointment may be scheduled at one time and we ask for 24 hour advance notice of any appointment cancellations. **Plan to arrive 5 minutes early. Business casual encouraged.

 

One-on-one appointments include:

INTAKE INTERVIEW (INITIAL APPOINTMENT)

ALL new members will start with an Intake Interview with a HR / Business Professionals volunteer who will assist you in setting up a job search plan BEFORE you begin the job search process at the Center.

 

CAREER EXPLORATION APPOINTMENT

Guidance in identifying strengths and evaluating goals and objectives to determine the next steps in your job search.

 

JOB SEARCH STRATEGY APPOINTMENT

Establish and organize job search priorities and learn methods of staying focused by setting job search objectives and staying motivated.

 

INTERVIEWING SKILLS APPOINTMENT

Preparation is key to successfully selling yourself in an interview. Mock and Video interviews help you learn and polish your interview skills through feedback and support.

 

LINKEDIN APPOINTMENT

Assistance in creating a productive profile and learning the tools and techniques to improve your online networking.

 

NETWORKING SKILLS APPOINTMENT

Making connections is key! Learn how to plug into existing opportunities, expand your networks, and create new opportunities and work on important networking tools such as your handbill and elevator speech.

 

RESUME APPOINTMENT

Receive feedback on updating your resume's content to effectively highlight your achievements.  

 

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS

Receive support in navigating and deciphering technology, websites, application processes and advanced help with specific Microsoft Office programs.

 

Individual packets on Career Exploration, Job Search Strategy, Interviewing, LinkedIn, Networking and Resume are available to all members by email. Contact the Center at 630-961-5665 or stop by the front desk to request a copy.
