Job Club: Job Club is held every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 or 11:30-1:30. Job seekers may choose either session to attend. Held in large group format, this club allows job seekers time to broadcast their targets to the group and offer support to others. Bring copies of your handbill or resume to share with peers. There is no fee to attend.
SpIN Group (Specific Industry Networking): Following a brief topic presentation, job seekers meet in groups specific to their career focus to share relevant leads, information, and tips. Strategize your job search through shared conversation with other job seekers. Open to all job seekers; no fee to attend. This group meets on Thursdays, 10:00-12:00.
LinkedIn Basics & Beyond: This high-demand demonstration seminar teaches participants about the valuable job searching tool, LinkedIn. Ranging from building a branded profile, to searching for jobs, company information, building credibility in your field, and connecting to people, this seminar covers it all!
Financial Strategies for the Unemployed: This informative session covers the basics of financial management before and during layoff, provides important financial resources and references, along with general job searching strategies.
Business Writing for Achieving Job Search Success: Do you have Cover Letter writer’s block? Not sure what to write on your resume? Or are you stumped about how to write a thank you following an interview? This helpful workshop will assist job seekers writing to employers.
Federal Job Application: Hiring in the government sector has not slowed during the recession. In fact, most positions are increasing in pay, with most retirement targets still in tact, opening positions on a regular basis. Applying for a federal job is different than applying for a private sector job. Learn the differences and gain insight through this demonstration seminar.
