One of the resources available to our members are individual one-hour long appointments with human resource professionals and other professionals in their respective fields. Plan to arrive at least five minutes prior to your appointment and business casual dress is encouraged. The one-on-one appointments include:
INTAKE INTERVIEW (INITIAL APPOINTMENT)
All new members will start with an Intake Interview with a HR / Business Professionals volunteer who will assist you in setting up a job search plan BEFORE you begin the job search process at the Center.
CAREER EXPLORATION APPOINTMENT
HR professionals and other experts will assist you in identifying strengths and evaluating goals and objectives to determine the next steps in your job search.
JOB SEARCH STRATEGY APPOINTMENT
Establish and organize job search priorities and learn methods of staying focused by setting job search objectives and staying motivated.
INTERVIEWING SKILLS APPOINTMENT
Preparation is key to successfully selling yourself in an interview. Mock interviews help you learn and polish your interview skills through private video sessions with feedback and support.
This one-on-one appointment will help you create a productive profile and learn the tools and techniques to improve your online networking.
NETWORKING SKILLS APPOINTMENT
Making connections is key! Learn how to plug into existing opportunities, expand your networks, and create new opportunities. Work on important networking tools such as your handbill and elevator speech.
Receive one-on-one help in updating or creating resumes that effectively highlight your achievements.
INDIVIDUAL COMPUTER TUTORIALS
Update or sharpen your skills with Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word, ...and more!
BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS APPOINTMENT
Receive one-on-one support in navigating and deciphering technology, websites, and application processes. Receive advanced help with specific Microsoft Office programs.
